Femtosecond Astigmatic Keratotomy (AK)

In patients who have undergone corneal transplantation it it not uncommon to have high degrees of astigmatism. (To learn more about astigmatism, read more here). One method of reducing astigmatism in these eyes is to use a femtosecond laser. The laser is used to make relaxing incisions which reduce the astigmatism and make the ocular surface more regular and spherical.
