At Kugler Vision in Omaha, we do not take for granted how life-changing the experience is for everyone who goes through vision correction procedures. We have made the LASIK experience truly unforgettable. LASIK is quick, comfortable, and life-changing!

Surgery Day

On your surgery day, we require you to have a friend or family member drive you to Kugler Vision. We would recommend that you to wear loose, comfortable clothing and arrive wearing glasses (not contact lenses!). It is required that all of our patients stay out of contact lenses for 5 days before their procedure. After checking in, our nurses will take some measurements and give you a mild sedative (such as Valium).

Safety is our top priority, so several steps are in place to ensure that all the measurements and settings are accurate and that they are matched to the correct patient using biometric identification technology. Lance Kugler, MD personally reviews all settings and measurements. Our safety checks are similar to programs that pilots or military personnel use.

LASIK Surgery

You will be led into the laser room, where you will be positioned under the laser. Before the procedure begins, your eyes will be cleaned and numbed by anesthetic drops. Every LASIK procedure performed at Kugler Vision is performed with a femtosecond laser. Surgeries performed with a femtosecond laser are safer and more predictable. The procedure lasts approximately 9-12 minutes. Dr. Kugler After the surgery is complete, you will immediately notice an improvement in your vision! Lance Kugler, MD will examine your eyes and you will be provided sunglasses and sleeping goggles. Your friend or family member will then take you home where it is recommended that you rest with your eyes closed for a short time.
